Nicole's Qnity Story

Nikki-Hilldale-landscape My name is Nikki and I attended Qnity in April of 2015. I have been in my current salon for almost 2 ½ years and have achieved even more success since the Qnity training. I love the Qnity message of the four building blocks of Focus, Measure, Engage & Prosper and how they build off from each other, each with its own key principles. It is a simplified, visual, action plan that builds confidence for the stylist to do and focus on what they already know. What connected for me most were the Engage and Prosper sections. In this day and age, everyone is on the go and is easily distracted. It is easy to become disengaged and lost or consumed in our own thoughts, feelings and/or situations. I also am guilty of this! Personally I’ve learned that sometimes it’s better to simplify things for my guest to keep them more engaged, because often times I get stuck in the old school way of “the more information the better” in particular with color, which is not always true. Sometimes the guest becomes too overwhelmed with the choices and the information. I also often thought it was best to keep personal and professional life separate; but in our industry our clients do become our friends. It is ok to have that connection and they look forward to seeing and talking to us just as much as we do them. With that connection, it becomes much less like work and it doesn’t seem like selling, but more like advice and suggestions. For me Prosper is a key driver. I love the ATM analogy of managing your attention, time and money! And as we all know, it’s difficult to focus on all three all the time! Being a single mom of two boys (14 months apart at that) and working full time it is easy to say there is never enough time but often times I could be more focused and organized which would make my time more productive. One of my favorite quotes from Qnity was: “Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Hellen Keller, Michael Angelo, Mother Teresa and Albert Einstein.” –H. Jackson Brown Jr. That is inspiring and also puts things in perspective. Since Qnity, I have been tracking my numbers much more regularly, and not just for paycheck purposes which I was doing previously. I have become more focused and engaged, and have seen tremendous growth some weeks. Retail has also been a big area of growth for me, as I feel more confident and have found success with using the 4x4 method. I also tried my hand at the homemade cards and actually had a lot of fun making them and my guest truly enjoyed and appreciated them! I think that I am a good representative for Qnity in my salon because I love and stand behind the positive, team building message it sends. I believe I can bring a positive attitude to keep my team energized, motivated, encouraged and focused. I am excited and have some fun ideas for my team and I look forward to this opportunity!
