Due to the rate of change and how the world is evolving today, lifelong learning is not an option. It’s a matter of survival and staying relevant. For me personally, learning is part of my DNA. I love to learn and I love to grow, and I have always been interested in reaching my full potential. You can’t reach your full potential without constantly learning.

Below are two great quotes about learning that have inspired me throughout the years.

“Everyone is ignorant, only on different subjects” by Will Rogers. At Qnity, we take a slight modification to this quote. We believe everyone is “gifted in different subjects,” “everyone has talents in different areas” and “everyone has something to give.” For example, something we hear frequently from Qnity participants is that they are “bad at numbers” and even experience overwhelming fear around areas such as math or money. Numbers are simply a language, a language that some of us are better at or “less ignorant” in than others.
While numbers might not be a subject you are exceptionally gifted in, you might have a gift that many others don’t- such as emotional intelligence, creativity and intuition. A curious mind is an interesting mind. A curious person is an interesting person. Acknowledging our ignorances, while being willing to approach new subjects with a sense of curiosity is part of the beauty of being human.

Thoreau is one of my favorite authors and I love this quote. What this really means is learning has the power to transform. Learning can come from reading a book, a novel experience, a new relationship, or attending an educational class. If I can leave you with one closing thought, remember that education is never wasted and you are never too old to learn.
